This is an augmented AmbuBag device.
Designed as an alternative automatic, controlled, and ventilation system for adults, to be used online in emergency situations when no other ventilation systems are available.
(more details can be found on the project websites - see links below)
AmboVent, an open-source automatically controlled medical ventilator device, was designed by a team of Israeli engineers and medical experts as a response to the worldwide shortages in mechanical ventilation devices due to the COVID-19 respiratory disease epidemic outbreak caused by Coronavirus.
The AmboVent respirator was engineered for mass-production at low costs, using off-the-shelf components removing the need for intricate assembly lines. The device's entire blueprints, mechanical & electrical designs, source-codes, and medical/engineering test reports were published on GitHub as open-source hardware and software on the evening of 1 April 2020.
This product is currently undergoing clinical trials. It has been tested in laboratory conditions. This product has not been cleared for clinical use yet in the state of Israel or elsewhere. Further testing is required to validate the effectiveness and safety of the product.
THIS DEVICE IS NOT APPROVED FOR CLINICAL USE YET.
