crowdSOS is a services, analytics, and advisory firm that utilizes mobile technologies to collect data and help enterprises and individuals in high-risk, developing countries make better decisions about their safety.

crowdSOS gathers and analyzes data and applies it in real-time to help people and organizations move efficiently and securely and with as much information as possible about incidents and hazards in the environment around them.

Many crimes in the developing world go unreported to become anecdotal. Often, underdeveloped social infrastructures or lack of trust in governmental entities lead to the mistrust displayed by constituents. Some metropolises are prone to crime while crime is substantiated in other locations as a result of war. crowdSOS aims to create a self-reporting system for incidents, empowering constituents and creating a geographic heat map for news and incidents.

crowdSOS is working alongside the Human Dynamics group of the MIT Media Lab.
