CommCare is an open source app-building platform that makes it easy for non-technical users to build mobile data collection and service delivery apps for their frontline programs. CommCare is responsible for registering one in every 120 new births with over 500 project in more than 60 countries, including the world’s largest e-nutrition program.
The platform offers key functionality like Case Management and Case Sharing, allowing users to register new cases, review and follow up with patients, and share that data with other workers in the field. Supervisors and administrators can review data remotely in real-time reports and export data to their analytics platform of choice. In addition to immediately sending data to secure servers over a wireless connection (cellular & WiFi), apps built on CommCare also work offline, storing data locally until their connection is restored. CommCare's easy-to-use formbuilder also allows for integration of SMS notifications, audio and video recording, and GPS locations.
CommCare has been proven to decrease maternal mortality rates by 18% and infant mortality rates by almost 50%. Programs run on CommCare can diagnose patients up to 41% faster than paper-based tools, and frontline workers using apps built on CommCare are 37% more likely to report a high level of confidence in their ability to do their job.
