Solution Overview & Benefits

Operation ASHA is a community based program model for areas with high TB prevalence. The model uses local workers to expand access to services and products of high quality at affordable prices among disadvantaged communities worldwide. The organization provides service delivery at the doorsteps of the under-served through existing community resources.

The model offers TB treatment and support lasting 6-10 months, as well as MDR-TB treatment and care that lasts around 24 months for each patient.

Over-the-counter medicines to treat side-effects of TB drugs, including nausea, vomiting, weight loss, headache, and joint pain are also provided, along with food and nutrition supplements, contraceptives and Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS).

60% of OpASHA’s expenses generates livelihood in the slums fighting TB, while also providing jobs to slum dwellers who work as providers and community partners.
