The Compact RO (Reverse Osmosis) Desalination System is designed to provide safe and secure drinking and daily-use water. The systems are able to purify pool, river, well and seawater of bacteria, viruses, arsenic and metals. If desalination is not necessary, models specifically for non-seawater are also available. The pumps are either manual or engine-driven, and thus do not require a source of electricity. The systems can provide water for 2500-5000 people a day.

The systems are designed to be light-weight and transportable (with wheels), and require no special training for their use. The RO systems come in a number of different models (manual/gasoline powered pumps; varying sizes and production capacities) in order to suit specific needs.

History & Development

The products were developed with the mission to help provide safe drinking water to developing or disaster-stricken regions of the world that have limited access to water. They are designed to be low-cost and high-quality, and Aquanext can customize and produce models to meet the specific needs of each country or situation.

The systems were used to purify pool water for victims of the March 2011 earthquake that struck the Tohoku region in Japan. This experience led to the development of smaller, light-weight designs that can be brought to areas with poor or damaged traffic infrastructure, and can be transported and easily used by women and children as well.
