Little Sun uses natural sunlight where energy is unavailable or unreliable, not affordable or not sustainable. Little Sun's lifespan is five years before it needs a battery replacement. It can hang on a wall or be placed on a table, be carried as a hand-held lantern, or attached to a bike. It is dust, UV, and heat-resistant. Little Sun features two light levels. Five hours of charging in the sun produces 50 hours of soft light or four hours of bright light.
LittleSun GmbH is a for-profit company founded by artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen. Little Sun helps decentralize access to power in the world by making sustainable light available anywhere. It promotes economic growth in regions of the world where electricity is not available or reliable. Its distribution networks bring prosperity to all participants in the supply chain and to the end user.
By buying Little Sun at full price in areas of the world with electricity, you help make it available for a lower price to communities with no or inconsistent electricity.
