Solution Overview & Benefits

Accessible water resources in the world are decreasing day by day. In order to solve this global problem, there is no solution other than to obtain water with different methods. The main purpose of this project is to develop very small sized air water production systems. The water obtained from this small system can be used for different purposes such as irrigation, cleaning, drinking, etc.

There are many water dispensers and water treatment devices in the world. However, all of these devices require an external water source or need a water line. RePG AQUA is to be able to work in any place where there is air and produce water by simply plugging it into an electrical outlet. It does not need an extra waste line for the discharge of water. RePG Aqua is used to produce water from the relative humidity of the air. At the beginning of the refrigeration cycle principle known in thermodynamics, the refrigerant enters the compressor as a low pressure and low temperature vapor. Then the pressure is increased and the refrigerant leaves as a higher temperature and higher pressure superheated gas. This hot pressurized gas then passes through the condenser where it releases heat to the surroundings as it cools and condenses completely. The cooler high-pressure liquid next passes through the expansion valve which reduces the pressure abruptly causing the temperature to drop dramatically.

The cold low pressure mixture of liquid and vapor next travels through the evaporator where it vaporizes completely as it accepts heat from the surroundings. The moist air taken from outside condenses in the evaporator, becomes water and it is transferred to the collection tank.This service water can be used for different needs (agriculture, irrigation, storage, cleaning). In addition, the obtained water can be used as drinking water by passing through powerful filters.

History & Development

Before starting the design, there were two thoughts. It was to produce water from the humidity of the air and to design a system that purifies the water it produces and turns it into quality drinking water. It was desired to bring these two different ideas into a single structure. The lower unit was determined as a water production unit from air humidity. RePG Aqua has three different low-cost solutions; -The first solution has a similar size to classical dispensers. It’s a daily production and filtering capacity of 10 liters of water. This system only supplies clean drinking water and has two small tanks. In addition, this product is available in industrial types with a daily production capacity of 20,50,100,150,1000 liters. (300x450x1000mm /40 kg) -The second solution is a system with two small tanks, which have filters for the production of potable water and can produce 4-5 liters of water per day.( 300x400x500mm / 26 kg) -The third solution is a small single-tank system that produces 4-5 liters of pure service water without filters per day. (300x350x500mm / 24 kg) The solutions which produce 4-5 liters of water per day have mechanical faucets that can work with hands and feet. The solutions were designed to increase the portability of this product. The water filter can be transferred from the outside to an extra filter system when necessary. Since the water produced by this system from the air will be easily portable, it can be used in any area where water is required and access to water is difficult. Thanks to these solutions, cheap products will emerge in places such as African homes and tiny houses.
